Steel City Solidarity

Precarious workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chain-stores!

Southern Ontario Solnet Gathering! Nov 2nd, 1-5pm

Steel City Solidarity would like to invite you to our

When: Saturday, November 2nd 1pm-5pm

Where: TBD (Downtown Hamilton, RSVP for location)

Steel City Solidarity is meeting with 4 other solidarity networks: Forest City Solidarity (London), Kitchener- Waterloo Solidarity Network, and Niagara Solidarity Network (St. Catherine’s), and the Toronto IWW Solidarity Committee

We want to meet and see what we are all up to:

Steel City has been around for 3 years, and the other solidarity networks have been around for a year or less.

But, we haven’t yet all met together!

We want to share lessons and resources learned while attending the International Solidarity Network Conference in Seattle.

We want to talk about how we determine a case’s winnability, how we strategize actions that escalate well, how we effectively outreach, how we build our capacities without burning out.

If you are interested in learning more about solidarity networks and being involved in Steel City, then come join us!

Please email to register – so we have a sense of numbers.

Coffee and Snacks provided, and we’ll be going out for dinner together afterwards.

Hope to see you there!

In soli,

Steel City Solidarity

Welcome (back) to Steel City Solidarity!!

Hi folks!

So after a bit of an online hiatus, we’re back with a new website.  We’re keen to use this as a place to keep folks informed about what we’re up to, how we work and how to reach us, and of course where we can celebrate our victories.

Interested in getting involved?

You can contact us through our email, facebook, or phone (under contact us). or come out to our regular meetings held

Every 2nd Tuesday at 8pm at the Oriental Restaurant and Tavern, 408 King St E (at Victoria)

408 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8N 3Y3

Our next meeting will be: Oct 15th @ 8pm

Even if you’re not sure what kind of commitment you can make to the group and just want some more information on what we do, we’re always interested in meeting new people, so feel free to join us!

And stay posted for updates on what we’re up to and how you can support struggles against bad bosses in Hamilton!
